Comment: A specimen of this species, from Bahamas, is illustrated in Lemaitre (1984): 440-441, fig. 7-8), with aspect of male pleopod. The determinations made herein are mostly based on the shape of male pleopod, with a characteristic lateral stylet. In Rathbun (1930: 427) entry C1 in key 'Carapace deeply areolated' is perhaps misleading as the carapace of specimens examined was at most feably areolated, except for 1 female (MNHN IU-2013-4911) otherwise similar to others specimens.
