World Distribution
Thoma & Felder (2012: 148, J. Crust. Biol.) - 23-68 m. Bahamas Banks through Florida Straits (Rathbun, 1930); southeastern, northeastern, and northwestern Gulf of Mexico (Felder et al., 2009, present study). Also Lesser Antilles (Guadeloupe).

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Hard bottom (rock and rubbles)

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 3-68 m

Milnepanopeus lobipes - Guadeloupe, Karubenthos 2012, det. J. Poupin October 2013 as Micropanope aff. pusilla, corrected into Milnepanopeus lobipes by D. Felder, March 2014, based on aspect of male pleopod - 1 male 3.3 x 4.5 mm, 1 female, MNHN-IU-2013-16262, st. GD42 (3 m), photo labo.
Comment: This species can be confused with Micropanope pusilla but its male pleopod is very distinctive, including 2 distal transverse stylets (or spines) mesial (longer) and lateral. Thoma & Felder (2012) can be consulted for description and illustration, including male pleopod, of this species, and new genus Milnepanopeus.
