Gelasimus affinis Streets, 1872: 131, St Martin [coll. Van Rijgersma] - Accepted as Minuca burgersi Holthuis, 1967 in WoRMS (2016).
Gelasimus palustris H. Milne Edwards, 1852, in part, Guadeloupe (Marie Galante) - Gelasimus palustris H. Milne Edwards, 1852 is accepted as Minuca rapax (Smith, 1870) but Crane (1975: 325) indicates that '2 dry specimens from Marie Galante in MNHN are U. burgersi'.
Uca mordax - Rathbun, 1918: 391, St Croix , St Thomas. - Rathbun, 1933: 97, St Thomas, St Croix. - Not Minuca mordax (Smith, 1870) for these places, probably M. burgersi Holthuis, 1967, instead, cf. Holthuis (1967: 52, discussion); Crane (1975: 174) also indicates that U. mordax is mostly a continental species, except for Trinidad.

Crane (1975: 168) - Throughout the West Indies U. burgersi is probably the most common fiddler, its only possible numerical rival being rapax, a member of the same subgenus.
