Knowlton et al. (Internet) - Tropical Western Atlantic [WA]: Caribbean from Haiti and Cuba to Panama, Venezuela and Lesser Antilles (e.g., Guadeloupe); more recently also found in S Florida (A. Rhyne and A. Anker, pers. obs.)

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 0-10 m

Comment : this a species of the Alpheus armatus species complex, with five species; characters useful for separation are in Almeida & Anker (2011). Obligate associate of sea anemone (e.g. Bartholomea annulata).
