Palaemonetes portoricensis (Schmitt, 1933) - Carvacho, 1979: 448, Guadeloupe [Carvacho considers that the synonymy proposed by Holthuis, i.e. Periclimenes portoricensis = Macrobrachium carcinus is not acceptable and that Schmitt species is more certainly a Palaemonetes].
Comment: The genus Palaemonetes is considered as a junior synonym of Palaemon in De Grave & Ashelby (2017). Palaemon portoricensis is a species incertae sedis, not listed in Pérez-Reyes et al. (2013; checklist for freshwater species of Puerto Rico) but Carvacho (1979) and his remarks have not been considered.
