World Distribution
Holthuis (1971, Bull. Mar. Sc.) - The species is known from the western Atlantic from the east coast of Florida south to Barbados and into the Caribbean area as far west as Yucatan, Honduras, and Nicaragua … The present new records of the species from the east coast of Florida, the Straits of Florida, the Santaren Channel, northwest of Cuba, off Yucatan Peninsula, south of Jamaica, north of Hispaniola, off Guadeloupe, off Dominica, off St. Lucia, and off the mouth of the Amazon fit well into the range shown by the records from the literature, and extend the known range to the southeast.
