Comment: specimen MNHN-IU-2013-18799 has very long chelipeds, almost twice as long as the other specimen (MNHN-IU-2013-18846) with shorter chelipeds, as figured by Mayo (1974, fig. 4) for M. alaminos. This is probably in the range of variation for this species as the specimen with longer chelipeds is otherwise similar for shape of its rostrum, ocular peduncles and abdominal somites.
