Pilumnoplax americana - Chace, 1940: 43, Guadeloupe [R/V Blake, st. 164, 150 fathoms, a male in Museum of Comparative Zoology].
Comment: Tavares & Guinot (1996) when describing Neopilumnoplax gervaini sp. nov. from Guadeloupe, a species closely affiliated to Neopilumnoplax americana, have not examined the male of N. americana from R/V Blake, Guadeloupe in Chace (1940) and do not mention Chace (1940) in their references. Therefore, it is possible that Chace (1940) record from Guadeloupe is conspecific to N. gervaini, but that must still be confirmed by comparison of the specimens.
