Rhyne & Lin (2006) - Intertidal-27 m. Southeastern U.S.; Florida: north to Pompano Beach, rare in Florida Bay; Caribbean: Haiti, Venezuela, Panama, Surinam, and French Guiana; northeastern Brazil: Buzios, Rio de Janeiro to Bahia (Plate 2).

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Hard bottom (rock and rubbles)

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 0-27 m

Comment: Rhyne & Line (2006: 182) indicate that Rodríguez records are probably not L. wurdemanni, but L. ankeri intead. In complement, Hernández et al. (1999) and Tagliafico et al. (2005) records from Margarita is also herein considered as most probably L. ankeri because Rhyne & Line (2006, pl. 2) indicate that L. wurdemanni is distributed only along US coastline.

Not Lysmata wurdemanni (Gibbes, 1850) but L. ankeri new species in Rhyne & Lin (2006: 179).

Distribution/Habitat – WA; Marine; 0–25 m.
Remark – In Rhyne & Line (2006, map plate 2) the range extension of Lysmata wurdemanni s.s. is limited to American coasts of North Carolina, Florida, and Gulf of Mexico. Lysmata ankeri has a larger WA distribution from Florida to Brazil (Bahia).

Comment(s) on data
In Pachelle et al. (Zootaxa, 2020: 63) species of the L. wurdemanni complex can be confused and: "the specimen depicted in Rhyne & Lin (2006)’s fig. 8C as L. ankeri might be L. bahia because of the unusually long stylocerite".
