Comment: this is a first record for Lesser Antilles but the species has a large WA distribution. The specimen from Guadeloupe is overall very similar to its sibling species in the eastern Pacific, Palicus lucasii Rathbun, 1898, as illustrated in Rathbun (1918:193, fig. 119) and Williams (1984: 483, fig. 379). The maximum deep range of the species is slightly extended herein from 190 m to at least 201/214 m.
