Remarks — These specimens were determined by using Guinot (1976: pl. 16, fig. 1, 1a) with good black and white photographs of this species and Serène (1984: 94, fig. 14d) for the aspect of the sternum and male pleopod. On the specimens examined the extension of the black color of the fixed finger to the palm of the chela appear variable, from distal part only to half of the palm.
Geographic and depth ranges — IWP, Mozambique, South Africa, Mayotte (this work) to Japan, Kiribati, French Polynesia; intertidal to 120 m.

"Tahiti", mentioned in the "Distribution" only, corresponds neither to material examined, nor to former references cited in this work. -> must be in Odhner (1925) - Tahiti.
