Corallianassa borradailei (De Man, 1928a)

World Distribution
According to Komai et al. (2015), Corallianassa borradailei (De Man, 1928a) is a valid species distributed with certainty from from Maldives (Borradaile 1904; De Man 1928a, b), Chagos Archipelago (Ward 1942), Fiji (Manning 1987), Hawaii (Edmondson 1944; Manning 1987; Ngoc-Ho 2002), and Ryukyu Islands, Japan (Amami-ohshima Island to Yaeyama Islands). Although this must be checked the specimens from New Caledonia (CRUSTA, Legall & Poupin, internet), Wallis & Futuna (Poupin & Juncker, 2008), French Polynesia (Poupin & Juncker, 2010) are most probably C. borradailei instead of C. coutierei. Corallianassa coutierei (Nobili, 1904), described from the Red Sea would be distributed in the IWP, Djibouti to French Polynesia

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Soft bottom (mud or sand)

Comment(s) on data
Taxonomy of Corallianassa borradailei (De Man, 1928a) is difficult and recapitulated by Komai et al. (2015, Fauna Ryukyuana). The species was described by De Man (1928) from the Maldives, as Callianassa (Callichirus) longiventris var. borradailei. It has been considered a junior synonym of Corallianassa coutierei (Nobili, 1904) and sometimes listed under Glypturus. Although this must be checked the specimens from New Caledonia (CRUSTA, Legall & Poupin, internet), Wallis & Futuna (Poupin & Juncker, 2008), French Polynesia (Poupin & Juncker, 2010) are most probably C. borradailei instead of C. coutierei. Corallianassa coutierei (Nobili, 1904), described from the Red Sea would be distributed in the IWP,Djibouti to French Polynesia.
