In Magalhães et al. (2016, PlosOne) the distribution of this species is only Gulf of Mexico.

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 5-90 m

Doubtful: In Magalhães et al. (2016, PlosOne) the distribution of this species is only Gulf of Mexico.

Comment(s) on data
Records of this species from Guianas and Brazil (Amapa) are more probably Persephona lichtensteinii (see under that species).
