Comment: Associated with the burrows of the ghost shrimp Callichirus major (Say, 1818). This species is considered as a senior synonym of A. hardyi (cf. Harrison & Hanley, 2005), not accepted in Palacios Theil et al. (2009). A study of the population dynamics of this pea crab in Brazil is in Peiró & Mantelatto (2011).
Palacios Theil & Felder (2020, Zootaxa: 101), accept without comment the synonymy of A. hardyi and A. aidae which add these records:
