Mayotte data
Liomera albolineata (Serène & Nguyen, 1960)
Material examined — Mayotte KUW 2009, st. 23, 15-30 m, at least 1 F juv. 5.3 x 8.3 mm (photographed with live coloration), perhaps also 2 MM 4.8 x 7.8 & 6.2 x 9.9 mm, MNHN B32368, MNHN-IU-2009-1141.
Remarks — The three specimens at KUW st. 23 are registered as L. rubra (A. Milne-Edwards, 1865) in MNHN collections (Septembre 2017). However, color photograph 1 F juv. 5.3 x 8.3 mm consulted during this work clearly shows that at leat this specimen is Liomera albolineata (Serène & Nguyen, 1960) with color pattern illustrated in Serène & Nguyen (1960: pl. II, fig. A). This seems to be the first record of this species since its description. A color photograph in Salvat & Bachet (2011: 252, bottom left as 'Liomera cf. rubra') is obviously of the same species, extending its distribution to French Polynesia (Moorea). The species is probably also in Japan, based on the illustration of 'L. rubra' in Kawamoto & Okuno (2003: 137, top) showing a specimen with typical color pattern of L. albolineata.
Geographic and depth ranges — IWP, Mayotte (this work, first record in IO) to Vietnam, Japan, French Polynesia; 15-20 m.
