Mayotte, also Japan in field guides (as ‘Q. serenei’) Minemizu (2000 : 290), Kato & Okuno (2001 : 136), 40-45 m to 85 m for Mayotte.

Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Associated with corals (obligate)

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 40-85 m

Quadrella ? maculosa - Poupin et al., 2021, Naturae in prep. - Mayotte, Passe Bateau 70-85 m, 7 mars 2020, photo G. Barathieu. Not Q. maculosa, perhaps a new species to be confirmed with examination of a specimen. This is the 'translucent' form of C. maculosa, as illustrated in Human & Deloach (2012 : 200). The 2 forms probably represent 2 distinct cryptic species
