Sesarmops imperator P.K.L. Ng, J.-J. Li & Shy, 2020

Vertical range : Land & Freshwater - Min-Max observed: 0-6 m

New Caledonia data
Sesarmops impressum - Ng & Richer de Forges, 2007 (Compendium NC): 329, New Caledonia. - Not S. impressum with distribution restricted to WIO in Ng et al. (2020, Zool. Stud.). Probably Sesarmops imperator instead, to be confirmed (see comments).

Comment(s) on data
Ng et al. (2020, Zool. Stud.) do not correct S. impressus record from New Caledonia (from list of Ng & Richer de Forges, 2007, compendium) in their revision of S. impressus which includes four distinct related species, S. impressus being restricted to WIO. Geographically, the best candidate for this entry would be Sesarmops imperator, widely distributed in the Western Pacific and reported in nearby Vanuata. Sesarmops atrorubens (Hess, 1865), from Fiji, and Sesarmops similis (Hess, 1865), from Samoa, however, cannot be totally excluded.
