Scyllarides americanus Verrill, 1922 – Holthuis, 1959a: 127, Suriname [Station 250, between the mouths of the Coppename and Suriname Rivers, 6° 41' N 55° 26.5'W; bottom mud, shells and coral; depth 42 m; 19 June 1957. — 1 male]. Not Scyllarides americanus Verrill, 1922 but Scyllarides delfosi new species in Holthuis (1960: 153) [This species has been figured and discussed by Holthuis (1959: 127), who with some doubt identified his specimen as Scyllarides americanus Verrill, 1922. Scyllarides delfosi differs from the true S. americanus - the correct name of which is Scyllarides nodifer (Stimpson, 1866)… ].
