Gnathophyllum elegans – Corbari et al., 2015: 165–167, unnumbered tab., French Guiana [R/V Hermano Gines, July–October 2014, 60–115 m].
Distribution/Habitat – ATL-MED; Marine; 0–115 m.
Remark – There are 9 lots of this species in MNHN from Guyane 2014 Expedition (60–115 m), determined by X. Li. Three lots, MNHN-IU-2013-2449, 2451, 2464 have color photos which leave no doubt on the determination, the color pattern being distinct from the 2 others Gnathophyllum species already reported in WA (G. americanum, G. circellum). G. elegans is motly EA and Mediterranean in its distribution but has obviously also colonized WA where it could be considered as 'invasive'. This seems to be the first WA record of this species; its deep range is extented from 30 m to 115 m.
