Environnement : Marine - Substrat/Association : Soft bottom (mud or sand)

Vertical range : Shallow-waters (0-100 m) - Min-Max observed: 6-60 m

French Guiana and surroundings areas: Guiana, Suriname, Brazil (Amapà)
Paguriste calliopsis – Melo, 1999: 74, Guianas [in Distribution, including Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, according map of fig. 27].
Pseudopaguristes calliopsis – Nucci & Melo, 2014: 343, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana. — Mantelatto et al. 2021: 582, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana. In Distribution only for these two references; probably from 'Guianas' in Melo (1999).
Distribution/Habitat – WA; Marine; 1–160 m.
Remark – It is not clear why Melo (1999) has reported this species from Guianas indicating: Atlântico ocidental-Guianas e Brasil (do Ceará até São Paulo). We failed to find anterior references for this region. For example, only Brazil (Bahia) is indicated in Coelho & Ramos (1970: 167) and Coelho & Ramos-Porto (1987: 48). Presence of this species in the French Guiana region must be better documented.

Remark – The presence of this species in French Guiana region is doubtful. The geographical record from Mantelatto et al. (2021) is not documented, perhaps from Melo (1999: 'Guianas'). However, Coelho & Santos (1980: 142) do not mention this species in their 'Guianense' province (fig. 2: Suriname, French Guiana, Brazil Amapa) but only form Tropical Brazil (including Guianense ?).
