Remark – All previous references of Austinixa cristata (Rathbun, 1900) in Brazil Amapá are corrected herein into Austinixa patagoniensis (Rathbun, 1918) by following Manning & Felder (1989: 16, 20) comment and corrections: "Coelho (1970 [corrected to 1969] and Coelho and Ramos (1972) reported Pinnixa cristata from off Cabo de Norte, Brazil, on muddy bottom in 23 m. We tentatively identify their records with P. Patagoniensis, as there are no other records of P. cristata from south of southeastern Florida. Pinnixa patagoniensis has been recorded from as deep as 130 m, whereas P. cristata appears to be restricted to intertidal and shallow subtidal habitats".
