Comment(s) on data
According to Chan & Crosnier (1997), Plesionika macropoda Chace, 1939 and P. williamsi Forest, 1964 are ‘extremely similar’ but ‘almost none of the previous authors discussed their relationships’. According to these authors they do represent distinct species that occur sympatrically in the Antilles and French Polynesia. Plesionika macropoda is unbanded, with rounded abdominal tergite III and longer rostrum while P. williamsi is banded, with pointed abdominal tergite III and shorter rostrum.
