Other records — Thalamita picta - Crosnier, 1962: 138, fig. 237-40, pI. XII, fig. 2, Europa, Madagascar, Comores, Anjouan, Mayotte, Glorieuses. - Guinot, 1967: 256, list with Mayotte. - Poupin et al., 2013c: 11, Glorieuses, Expedition Glorieuses December 2012, st. Remarks — The specimen have determined by using characters and drawings in Crosnier (1962) and very typical distal end of male pleopod, as illustrated in Vannini & Innocenti (2000: 282, fig. 66). Mayotte specimen being preserved its photograph is replaced herein by a photograph of a fresh specimen collected in 2011 in nearby Europa Island, Mozambique channel. Spinridonov (2017b) has recently described a new species from Japan, Thalamita matzuzawai, very similar to T. picta and he gives a comparaison table for characters between these two species and 4 others morphologically similar species.
Geographical and depth ranges — IWP, Red Sea, South Africa, to Hawaii, French Polynesia and Clipperton; intertidal, subtidal to 159 m.
