Laboute at Anao Bay (MNHN Pg5907) and has figured a color photograph of a second specimen collected by J. Poupin at Eiao, snorkeling 1 m (erroneously indicated as MNHN Pg5907 in the caption). This second specimen has not been retrieved in MHNN collection and has not been examined. Rahayu (personal communication) has also examined the specimen MNHN Pg5907 from Anao Bay, plus a set of additional specimens collected during the Marquesas MUSORSTOM 9 campaign. Based on her observation on this additional material all these specimens belong to D. sanguinocarpus. - Moorea Biocode project (with a '?'). - AAMP, Marquesas, 2012, Leg 2, St. 3-6, 13, 16; Leg 3, St. MQ16-M, Fatu Hiva, intertidal, coll. Comment(s) on data
There are some doubt that these Marquesan specimens are the same that D. sanguinocarpus from Hawaii. Asakura (2006) has examined one of them (Anao, MNHN Pg5907) and speculated that it is related to D. cf. longior Asakura, 2006. D.L. Rahayu (pers. comm.) that has also examined some of these spp. in MNHN and she has concluded that they are the same as D. sanguinocarpus.
New family Calcinidae Fraaije, Van Bakel & Jagt, 2017, replaces Diogenidae. Calcinidae unaccepted in Poore & Ahyong (2023) (also WoRMS 2023).
