Cabezas, Macpherson & Machordom (2011: 260, Zool. J. Linn. Soc.) - Mozambique, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia (Gorong Island), Vanuatu, New Caledonia, and Chesterfield Islands, between a depth of 44 and 120 m. Usually living on crinoids (O. bennetti and H. robustipinna).

Vertical range : Shallow to deep-waters (e.g. 10-190 m) - Min-Max observed: 44-120 m
