Comment: photo determination is based on rostrum aspect, color pattern and past collections off Guadeloupe. It must however be checked on specimens that 5rd abdominal pleurite has a posteroventral denticle (P. spinipes subgroup) or is rounded (P. narval subgroup, including P. longicauda).

Type specimen is from: Pandalus longicauda Rathbun, 1901: 117; Fig. 24. [Gulf of Mexico, 28°42'30''N 85°29'W, 88 fms, 161 m], sp. from Porto Rico are from Mayaguez Harbor, 220 to 225 fathoms (402-412 m), station 6070, 2 specimens, in poor condition (?may be Plesionika aff longicauda for these one) [Rathbun, 1901: 117 - The Porto Rican examples being in poor condition, I have taken as types two examples collected by the Albatross in the Gulf of Mexico, lat. 28° 42' 30" N., long. 85° 29' W., 88 fathoms, station 2403 (U. S. Nat. Mus. No. 23568).]
Reported in this base as VGI (St Thomas, St Croix) - not retreived = error!
