Lupea rubra - Desbonne, in Desbonne & Schramm, 1867: 38, Guadeloupe [n°118 mâle, n°119 femelle, dry collection MNHN 18837; Guadeloupe] - In H. Milne Edwards (1834-1840: 454) Lupea rubra is the same as Portunus ruber Lamarck, 1818; however, according to dry specimen of Desbonne [n°118 in MNHN B18837], examined for this study, this record is not of Cronius ruber (Lamarck, 1818) but Callinectes ornatus Ordway, 1863 instead.

Callinectes arcuatus - Hernández & Bolaños, 1995: 77, Margarita. - Hernández et al, 1999: tab. 2, Margarita [Laguna de Las Marites] - Not Callinectes arcuatus Ordway, 1863, an eastern Pacific species (?invasive); probably its analogous species in the western Atlantic, C. ornatus (see Robles et al., 2007).
