Comment: This 'beautiful iridescent purple and red swimming crab' is reported by Williams (1984) from southern Massachusetts through the Gulf of Mexico along coast to French Guiana, but reported absent from the Antilles. Its occurrence at 120 m off Guadeloupe during Karubenthos 2012 seems to be the first record for the Lesser Antilles. It is illustrated in color from French Guiana in Takeda (1983).
